Grand Bahama Shipyard recognised with British Safety Council International Safety Award 2026.

Freeport, Grand Bahama – Grand Bahama Shipyard Limited (GBSL) is proud to announce that it has been awarded a Merit in the British Safety Council International Safety Awards 2026, in recognition of its outstanding commitment to protecting the health, safety and wellbeing of its employees and contractors throughout the 2025 calendar year.

Grand Bahama Shipyard is one of 428 organisations to receive a Merit, among 851 total winners drawn from 51 countries worldwide — spanning construction, manufacturing, oil, gas, mining, power and utility sectors.

Grand Bahama Shipyard Limited (GBSL) is a premier ship repair and conversion facility located within the Port of Freeport, Grand Bahama, Bahamas — 93 nautical miles east of Miami, Florida. Founded in 1999, GBSL offers a full range of marine services including dry-docking, hull repair, mechanical and electrical works, steel fabrication and topside repairs.

GBSL holds ISO 9001, ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 14001 certifications, and is ISPS Compliant. The yard accommodates vessels up to 300 metres in length with a maximum lifting capacity of 45,000 tonnes.
