Grand Bahama Shipyard Ltd is recruiting one (1) PIPE FITTING FOREMAN. The successful candidate will lead the team members by example and administer Company Procedures and work instructions from the Department Manager and will be responsible for the safe and efficient execution of works within the designated work area.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
▪ Must be able to lead, direct, and coach employees in alignment with Company’s core values
▪ Responsible for the safe and efficient execution of works within the designated work area
▪ Oversee adherence to SAFETY and security policies as well as Company goals
▪ Communicate pending issues with Ship Managers and Project Managers
▪ Prepare shift handover in accordance with set procedures
▪ Perform administrative tasks for the Pipe Department
▪ Adherence to all Company policies and procedures
▪ To share and promote our Company ‘Values’.
▪ Actively participate in Company NearMiss reporting system.
QUALIFICATIONS:
▪ Successfully completed a City & Guilds Trade Apprenticeship in the marine industry or hold an equivalent internationally recognised Trade qualification in that industry (for example, NVQ Level 3 Trade certifications, National Trade Certificate/ITI, TESDA NCII/NCIII, or comparable standards). Proof of certification will be required.
▪ Must have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in the ship pipe fitter field and 5 years in similar role.
▪ Must be familiar with CuNi, stainless steel, aluminium, CS piping, fittings.
▪ Must have sound knowledge of welding of different piping materials and NDT.
▪ Must have a sound knowledge of Ship’s piping systems, arrangement and testing.
▪ Must have good administrative capabilities with an ability to produce requisite reports required for department operations
▪ Must have excellent written and verbal skills
▪ Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints and drawings
▪ Ability to write condition or found as reports
▪ Ability to work with limited supervision
▪ Physically must be able to climb, walk, bend, and lift
▪ Preparedness to travel as required
